Kalgoorlie Metro Kids Disco was a huge success raising over $1035 for the Salvation Army Winter Appeal.
Over 100 children from kindy to grade 7 danced, laughed and enjoyed a night of fun last Friday with plenty of games, prizes and giveaways.
Event organiser and Head of Sales at Kalgoorlie Metro Property Group, Renee McLean and her team wanted to give back to the community and provide support to those less fortunate.
“It was a great turn out. The kids had a fantastic time – as well as the adults!” she said.
“Seeing the community of Kalgoorlie-Boulder get behind us and support those who need it the most is really rewarding” she said.
The Kalgoorlie Salvation Army get over 90 people per day into their centre in this cold weather.
“It really fills my heart with joy to see people doing their part to help relieve the stress of winter on those in need in the community” she said.
A special thank you to the Palace Theatre Recreation Centre in Boulder for providing the venue and Scott and Debbie Gunson of McDonalds for donating prize vouchers for the night.
Kalgoorlie Metro is still accepting donations of canned food, blankets and money until June 30th. All items can be dropped of to the Kalgoorlie Metro office at 49 Brookman Street.
